Moscow – A working Holiday

Rolling through the festive season in Moscow which will last to nigh on until the middle of January. Why so long. Because Russia still holds its festive celebrations like Christmas by the old calender. Therefore we will have the new year on 31st December like everyone else then Christmas day on 6th January and then old new years on 13th January. Its a long haul and generally I try and get as much work done in the lull when nothing is happening. Continue reading

Work Update – Copernicus Films 09/12/2011

Another day of graphics and editing on the web doc Japan Philosophical Landscapes. Next episode taking shape and will be ready soon. Learning new programmes and computer graphics which I will need for future projects, in particular The Fairground Booth. This tutorial is worth checking about “mocha” motion tracking on After Effects. Thanks to No film School for the link from lynda.com

Work Update – Copernicus Films 08/12/2011

Another few hours in the studio working on graphics effects for the next episode of Japan – Philosophical Landscapes plus numerous administrative tasks which became pressing today. The graphics on the film was a minor breakthrough as I had been unable to crack a recurring problem for some time.

Hoping to get the next episode up on the internet by the end of the weekend. Some news on other fronts concerning the Fairground Booth/Vahktangov etc Russian Theatre film project. Details still not clear as yet but will be announced as information becomes available. Working through voluminous research and background for this project  but there is nothing else to be done.

Chilly dark night in Moscow but with a bright full moon to offset the apparent gloom. Will carry on tomorrow in the studio with Japan Philosophical Landscapes and preparation of other work.
